Dan, maybe this topic could be made into a sticky. I'm thinking for classic [sorry, 0lI) 5koo1] punk bands.

Artifix (and, no, I'm REALLY not a shill for them) is ready to finally release the first CD of music from Catholic Discipline. $10/pp, and they accept Paypal.

See http://www.artifixrecords.com for details.

Thanks Thos!

I loved Catholic Discipline (of course, I *lived* Catholic discipline, but that's beside the point)!

I had a great live tape I made of them at the Hong Kong back in the day. Unfortunately it was loaned out to a friend and I never got it back again.

Will definitely get this one!

I'm-a gonna be there!

And I'm gonna PAY for it the next day, too.
We are committed to having a big old neighborhood yard sale on Saturday the 22nd - starting at 8:00 ayem - which means we have to be up EARLY to shunt the stuff out on the lawn prior to that! :(

Since our tree unexpectedly fell down a couple weeks ago I will need to wear this huge B-52's hat in order to shield me from the sun's hellish rays.

But hopefully I will earn enough pesos to pay my way in to the groovy show happening that night at Sacred Grounds! :D

Your EMF detector must be working because I won't be going to that show for the same reason.

Well that and because it's too far.

Thanks Lisa!

Actually, that B-52's hat I mentioned (so named because they wear them in the video for "Song for a Future Generation") is not only also Chinese, but it's huge enough to qualify as a parasol all by itself! AND it's red, so it'll attract attention to our yard, perhaps?

So - if anyone wants vintage tea sets, vintage hats (I think I still have some left) and tools and books and "stuff" (and perhaps a few pieces of my painted handiwork), come on down! But bring your sunscreen! 8)

Well, when I realized which weekend it was for it was too late to back out of this yard sale. It's going to be announced in the paper and is an organized thing, so we'd actually be stupid not to do it then since we'll likely get a lot of foot traffic that day. Luckily, La Zona Rosa (damn it, it's Dancing Waters and always will be!) is only a couple of minutes away from where I live, and I have the day on Friday so I can get everything ready to put out before we go to the show. Hopefully it won't be too bad.

Good luck with your yard sale, Thos! :D

I saw flyers for this all over town. I was going to grab one of them but didn't get a chance.

Lisa, I just saw a few (at reasonable height level) going up 25th St. from Gaffey, if you want one.

Thought it was funny how they call it "The Waters Club" on the poster. :)

(a public service announcement)

I was thinking of making this a sticky, like Thom wanted - but I don't know if that would make people feel that ALL "non-Last" music posts should go in this one thread, and the rest of the board had to be about Last stuff...

I know some people don't like that there are any stickies here at all - they think they don't get noticed when a new post is added to them.

So I don't know. What does everyone think?

I'm offended that a new stickie was added and that it was a poll. :x

Not really.

Stolen from elsewhere, for Tom:

CORPSE GRINDERS REUNION? Rumor has it that Rick and Stu are getting the CORPSE GRINDERS from New York back together! This will be their first reunion in over 23 years. More as it happens. Probably no California shows, but who knows.

good show, but you couldn't hear the guitar . . .

nancy & joseph & someguy made it out - lina apparently had a moment of clarity & realized that going would be counter-productive, garage sale-wise.

we couldn't find a ladder but got someone taller than me in an angry samoans tshirt to rip one down for us

did I mention I'm playing acoustic at Sacred Grounds tomorrow (Pedro) at 8:45pm? then misfortune cookie, then Mike Quercio's Jupiter Affect, then Pink Slip. A very good show. Wish I'd thought to mention it. It's late. good night.

I was exhausted well before 7:00 and decided to take a shower to see if it would revive me. I was ready to drop anyway, but figured my brother could persuade me back into going. Then he called and said he was going to have to skip it, and anyway our friend who was coming from out of town for the show wasn't coming after all so we said to hell with it.

But we found more stuff to sell!

No. Actually that's all a lie.

Tom sent me some REALLY COOL stuff that arrived in the mail yesterday and I couldn't tear myself away from the TV! :P

Thanks Tom!! :D

Glad you guys went and enjoyed the show, though!
NEXT time!
